Job description

Drives a variety of company vehicles, including passenger vehicles, box trucks, and bus/coach.
Drives company vehicles over specified routes or to specified destinations according to time schedules and needs. Responsible for theย  safeย  transportationย  ofย  bloodย  products,ย  supplies,ย  staffย  andย  equipmentย toย  andย  fromย  mobileย  sites.ย  Loadsย  and unloadsย  ordersย  materials,ย  suppliesย  andย  equipmentย  at differentย  sitesย  andย  interactsย  withย  internalย  andย  external customers. Performs mobile site set-up and break-down including inventory control and audits. Responsible for a variety quality control procedures and documentation for both Collections and Mobile Support. Complies with traffic regulations and operates vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.ย  Other duties may be assigned.


1.ย ย ย ย  Loadsย  aย  variety ofย  companyย  vehiclesย  inย  aย  safeย  manner,ย  ensuringย  cargo isย  evenly distributed,ย  securedย  and stored for transportation.

2.ย ย ย ย  Performs multiple mobile break downs and returns including unloading supplies, materials,ย equipment and ice chests in the proper areas and in an orderly manner.

3.ย ย ย ย  Performs mobile cart set-up and break-down as needed.

4.ย ย ย ย  Pack and transport blood products from mobile sites to processing laboratory.

5.ย ย ย ย  Properly handles and disposes of medical waste according to standard operating procedures.

6.ย ย ย ย  Properly conducts daily QC duties including set-up, documentation, reporting and cleaning.

7.ย ย ย ย  Properly perform heat sealer maintenance according to standard operating procedures.

8.ย ย ย ย  Accurately completes bloodmobile observation sheets according to standards.

9.ย ย ย ย  Unpacks items to be stocked in mobile staging areas. Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner.

10.ย ย ย  Coordinates, organizes and stages equipment and supplies for blood drives on schedule.

11.ย ย ย  Provides support for all mobiles, i.e. pulling supplies, restocking carts/trays, quality control and cleaning of specified equipment, and organization of equipment and supplies for each mobile.

12.ย ย ย  Maintains supplies and work area in a neat and orderly manner.

13.ย ย ย  Maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in accordance with internal standards, safety and FDA regulations.

14.ย ย ย  Performs vehicle inspections prior to departure according to standard operating procedures. Reports any vehicle damage, malfunctions or needed repairs to Supervisor and takes vehicle out of service as directed.

15.ย ย ย  Performs canteen function on mobile drives as needed includingย  set-up/clean-up, interactions with donors, handling donor reactions and maintenance.

16.ย ย ย  Drives vehicles to and from maintenance appointments as directed by supervisor or designee.

17.ย ย ย  May drive out replacement vehicles in the case of vehicle breakdown or accident.

18.ย ย ย  May drive out mobile staff, materials, supplies or equipment to mobile sites as directed by supervisor or Manager.

19.ย ย ย  Cleans and disinfects coolers, blue ice, and separators used for product transportation per standards.

20.ย ย ย  Responsible for ensuring all on site fueling (Diesel) vehicles have the fuel door accessible for nightly on site fueling.

21.ย ย ย  Assists in the development of a mobile site set-up manual including inventory of all equipment/supplies verification.

22.ย ย ย  Restocks and cleans mobile buses/trucks after mobiles return.

23.ย ย ย  Performs multiple mobile set ups and break downs in same day.

24.ย ย ย  Communicates appropriately with Chairperson and/or others at Blood Drive locations regarding placement of LifeStream vehicles and equipment.

25.ย ย ย  Performs mobile site checks as required.

26.ย ย ย  Inspects parking lot to ensure all company vehicles are parked in their proper places.

27.ย ย ย  Restocks all mobile carts for equipment, supplies and materials.

28.ย ย ย  Performs routine and quarterly inspections of coolers and supplies and identifies those that need to be retired and properly labels and removes from inventory. Brings them to the attention of Supervision.

29.ย ย ย  Conducts monthly inspections of all company vehicles for damage, needed vehicle maintenance and missing paperwork.

Experience in loading/unloading preferred.ย  1 year of customer service preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, ETC.

Valid California Driverโ€™s License. Commercial License required with Air Brake endorsement.
