Job description

Seeking a Bus Driver, Monday through Friday to safely transport students to and from St. Edward on the Lake Elementary School.
Major Responsibilities:
ยท Provide safe, timely, and responsible transportation for district students (and staff, when appropriate) over specified routes according to a specified time schedule.
ยท Comply with all traffic laws, regulations, and local school bus safety policies.
ยท Handle emergency situations effectively.
ยท Encourage the orderly conduct of students on the bus and report incidents of misconduct appropriately.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
ยท High school diploma or equivalent
ยท Acceptable driving record
ยท Pass physical including drug and vision test (required Medical Examinerโ€™s Certificate issued by health care provider)
ยท Commercial Driverโ€™s License (P Endorsement)
ยท Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students
ยท Capable of reading and understanding maps/navigational tools
ยท Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
ยท Knowledge of and adherence to all school and diocesan policies

Essential Functions and Representative Duties
ยท Complete a pre-trip inspection prior to each use of the bus
ยท Ensure that the bus is properly warmed up before the start of the trip
ยท Supervise the boarding and de-boarding of students
ยท Maintain discipline when students are on the busses
ยท Gas up bus at the beginning of each run
ยท Follow assigned routes and schedules
ยท Transport only authorized students
ยท Follow all procedures, policies, and directives of the school and Archdiocese
ยท Clean and Sanitize the bus following each bus run.
