JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for electrical/mechanical servicing and efficient maintenance of machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds. Utilize and operate equipment, material, and tools to inspect, diagnose and repair machinery, including mills, slitter, tool room equipment, PLC's, motor controls, sensors, limit switches and electro/mechanical systems, 3-phase 480vt equipment, and other facility needs as they arise. Responsible for support capacity of all plant functions, maintaining equipment in an operable, safe manner. Must comply with all safety, quality, customer focus, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping standards. All other duties as assigned and expected.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ability to read and apply micrometer, caliper, gages, and tape measure.
  2. Ability to perform required maintenance and repairs, including preventive maintenance.
  3. Ability to read electrical blueprints/schematics and PLC Ladder Logic.
  4. Ability to drive a forklift and overhead cranes.
  5. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently.
  6. Ability to stand and walk for 8 to 16 hour shifts, and the ability to walk, stoop, climb, kneel, crawl, and bend frequently.
  7. Ability to work in an environment without climate control.
  8. Ability to work overtime and/or various shifts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. At least 2 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment and electrical degree or certificate.
  2. Pass an electrical maintenance test.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to read shop signs and instructions and collaborate with team members.
  4. Basic mechanical skills including demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in working on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  5. Knowledge of and experience with PLC's, motor controls, sensors, limit switches and electro/mechanical systems, and 3-phase 480vt equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot the same.
