Building subs, short for building substitutes, are individuals who temporarily fill in for absent staff members in a school building, typically covering for teachers, aides, or other support roles. They maintain classroom instruction and daily routines, ensuring continuity of learning and student safety. Building subs are often assigned to a specific school for a set period, unlike day-to-day substitutes who might work in different buildings as needed.
