Job description

General Summary 

The Facilities Assistant - Building Services is responsible for supporting the day-to-day building service operations of a production studio. This includes, but is not limited to, preventive maintenance, workstation and equipment moves, general errands and other miscellaneous facilities-related tasks. The position will ensure all building issues are addressed in a timely manner in a fast-paced production environment. 

Job Functions 
  • Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of various areas around studio buildings, grounds, and walkways including cosmetic improvements such as patching and painting drywall. 
  • Respond to preventative maintenance and service requests via an online ticketing system.
  • Support troubleshooting of copy machine, printer, and other building equipment.
  • Assist with various department projects, trainings, and other production-related requirements.
  • Facilitate employee workspace setup including assembly and moving of furniture, as needed. 
  • Support on-site and off-site employee events including set up and break down.
  • Stock kitchen, bathrooms, and building supply areas.
  • Assist with vendor relationships. 
  • Provide administrative support to the Facilities department, as needed. 
  • Run errands as necessary using studio vehicles. 
Qualifications 
  • 0 -2 years' related experience in supporting building service operations.
  • Basic knowledge of power tools and material handling equipment.  
  • Ability to troubleshoot in a variety of situations while being resourceful in determining solutions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure within given deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all levels within the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license with proof of insurance and access to a reliable vehicle for running off-site errands, required.

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear both in person and by telephone. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works under typical office conditions and is exposed to variable indoor temperatures. The noise level is usually quiet or moderate. This position may include responding to maintenance requests, supporting vendors, or conducting routine inspections outside of standard business hours.
