Description
The Materials Management Director plays a key role in ensuring our hospital has the supplies, equipment, and resources needed to deliver exceptional patient care. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position leads all aspects of supply chain operations, including purchasing, inventory management, vendor relations, contracting, value analysis, and distribution.
This leadership role oversees the daily operations of the Materials Management department, develops and mentors team members, manages departmental budgets and vendor contracts, and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency while controlling costs. The Materials Management Director collaborates closely with clinical leaders, finance, and vendors to ensure timely product availability, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement.
Requirements
• Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in healthcare materials management, purchasing, or supply chain required.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare purchasing, inventory management, contracting, and Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs).
• Strong analytical, financial, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with materials management systems and Microsoft Office.
