Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety, appearance, and functionality of residential properties. Working under the direction of the Lead Maintenance Technician, you will perform general maintenance and repair tasks, assist in preparing vacant units for new occupants, and help maintain clean and safe grounds throughout the property.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine building maintenance and general repair work.
  • Repair windows, doors, walls, plumbing fixtures, and other building components.
  • Assist with preparing vacant apartments for new residents by cleaning units after repairs are completed.
  • Remove furniture, carpet, padding, household items, and other materials from vacant units while following company disposal procedures.
  • Prepare interior walls for painting and complete painting projects as directed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to help reduce future maintenance issues.
  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of common areas and removing trash and debris from the property.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and promptly address potential safety hazards.
  • Complete required maintenance paperwork and work orders accurately.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel with assigned projects and additional duties as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in residential, apartment, building, or general maintenance preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of residential or apartment maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance practices, hand tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, digging, sanding, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance or proper equipment.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
