Job description

Building Maintenance & Facilities SpecialistLamoille Valley Ford โ€” Hardwick, VT

Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

At Lamoille Valley Ford, we take immense pride in our dealership, our community, and our team. We are looking for a reliable, handy, and proactive Building Maintenance Specialist to keep our facilities safe, clean, and running smoothly.

This isn't just a job where you are stuck behind a desk or doing the exact same repetitive task all day. You will be the go-to person for keeping our facility in top shape, while also lending a hand on various dealership projects as needed. If you love a job where every day looks a little bit different and you get to work with a supportive, community-focused team, this is the perfect fit.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
  • Facility Maintenance: Perform basic repairs and upkeep across the dealership (light plumbing, minor electrical fixes like changing bulbs, basic carpentry, patch/paint, and fixing fixtures).

  • Groundskeeping: Assist in keeping the exterior looking sharp, including basic walkway upkeep, trash removal, and seasonal property care.

  • Systems Upkeep: Conduct routine inspections of building systems (HVAC filters, emergency lighting, doors/locks) to ensure everything is operating safely.

  • Team Assist: Jump in to help other departments with miscellaneous projects as neededโ€”whether thatโ€™s moving equipment, helping organize parts areas, or assisting with special dealership events.

  • Safety First: Ensure walkways, entryways, and shop floor boundaries remain clean, clear, and safe for both customers and staff.

What We Are Looking For (Qualifications):
  • Handyman Skills: Proven experience with basic building maintenance, tools, and general troubleshooting.

  • Jack-of-all-Trades Attitude: A willingness to pivot and help out with random tasks around the dealership with a positive attitude.

  • Self-Motivated: Ability to see what needs to be fixed or cleaned and take care of it without needing constant supervision.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stay on your feet throughout the day.

  • Reliability: A dependable team player with a valid driverโ€™s license and clean driving record.

What We Offer:
  • Competitive Compensation: Hourly pay based on your experience level.

  • Great Workplace Culture: Work with a local, community-supportive team that treats employees like family.

  • Variety: A dynamic role where your skills are highly valued and no two weeks are exactly the same.

  • Full Benefits: Access to health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and stable, year-round employment.

Come Work with Us!

Lamoille Valley Ford is deeply rooted in the local community, and we believe a clean, well-maintained dealership is the first step in taking care of our neighbors. If you take pride in your work and want to be a crucial part of our daily operations, apply today!
