Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Building & Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for performing general building maintenance, repairs, and groundskeeping at multiple Shop N' Go locations. Most work will be performed outdoors, and the role will require frequent travel between stores. The Building & Maintenance Technician will report directly to our Building & Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs and adjustments on building structures, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain power tools, hand tools, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance of HVAC units, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and other store equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address maintenance issues.
  • Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including litter and debris removal.
  • Perform landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, watering, and leaf blowing.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials.
  • Participate in required safety training sessions.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities work, or a similar role preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Basic understanding of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, diagrams, and basic maintenance instructions.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
