Peckham Inc - Custodial Services Trainee (In-house)
Additional Information:
Pay: $15 an hour
Shift: 11am-3pm Monday-Friday
Location: Grand Rapids, Mi
SUMMARY
The Custodial Services Trainee duties involve general custodial tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning of restrooms, public areas, classrooms, offices, and conference rooms. The ideal candidate is flexible, diligent, and a good communicator, who can receive feedback and resolve basic issues with the support of an on-site Supervisor or Crew Leader. Attending New Hire Orientation and receiving in-person training is required before being placed at a site. Placement site can change at any time based on contract requirements or the needs of the line of business.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Stocking and organizing storage closets and custodial carts
  • Routine cleaning of restrooms, conference rooms, breakrooms, classrooms, and offices
  • Routine cleaning of mirrors and glass
  • Operate commercial cleaning equipment
  • Maintain grounds, including snow removal as needed
  • Routine vacuuming of carpeting and matting
  • Routine cleaning of flights of stairs
  • Routine dry and wet mopping of hard flooring areas
  • Periodic dusting of all horizontal and vertical ledges
  • Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment and report deficiencies
  • Produce quality work in an ever-changing environment
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards
  • Practice proper security and safety standards at building sites
  • Apply ergonomic standards appropriate to each custodial task and the equipment used
  • Utilize a teamwork approach for all projects
  • Promote Peckham's vision, values and services to all customers and stakeholders
  • Complete and maintain all required trainings and certifications
  • Receive and implement constructive feedback in a professional manner
  • Accept other duties as assigned and training as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to read and/or interpret written or pictorial documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schedules, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to communicate verbally, gesturally, or through written means
  • Must pass and maintain background checks
  • Meet physical requirements of the position (see Physical Demands)
  • Able to commit to a regular schedule
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from worksite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED
