Position Summary:

Alliance Aviation Services is seeking a Building Engineer to support the Director of Airport Operations and Airport Operations team at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport. This role is responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the FBO facility, hangars, mechanical equipment, utility systems, and site infrastructure. The Building Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient building operations while supporting tenants, vendors, and airport stakeholders in a 24/7 operational environment.

Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on buildings, hangars, systems, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plumbing fixtures, electrical circuits, HVAC components, and control systems.
  • Perform minor electrical work, including wiring repairs, replacement of switches, outlets, and control circuits.
  • Perform basic carpentry, masonry, and flooring repairs; replace ceiling and floor tiles as needed.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment (e.g., belts, filters, bearings, seals) and make repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Maintain and repair commercial kitchen, laundry, and related appliances.
  • Perform exterior facility duties including site cleanliness, winter weather facility preparation for snow or ice conditions, and outdoor repairs as required.
  • Assist the Airport Operations team with addressing and closing out minor airfield maintenance work orders.

 Mechanical, Electrical & Building Systems:

  • Monitor, operate, and provide routine maintenance to HVAC and critical systems equipment.
  • Operate and support Building Automation Systems (BAS), Building Management Systems, and computer-controlled mechanical and utility systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance including inspection of belts, seals, bearings, fluid levels, filters, and lubricated components.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Support and maintain fire alarm and fire protection systems, including testing, inspections, and coordination of repairs.

Work Orders, Documentation & Planning:

  • Conduct routine building inspections and document issues observed and work orders created during inspections and immediately closed out.
  • Complete and oversee work orders related to building systems, equipment, furniture, and personnel requests.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inspection checklists and complete maintenance records.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and completed work.

Contractor & Vendor Oversight:

  • Coordinates, oversees, and supervises third-party service contractors and vendor activities.
  • Inspects work completed by contractors and vendors to ensure quality results.
  • Ensures contractors and vendors comply with safety standards, site procedures, and operational requirements.

 Safety, Security, & Emergency Response:

  • Act as the first responder for facility, mechanical, and technical emergencies.
  • Respond to after-hours building and site emergencies as required.
  • Promote a safe, secure, and professional environment for associates, tenants, and visitors.
  • Maintain constant readiness to support FBO and airport-critical operations.
  • Report safety hazards, security concerns, or operational risks promptly.

 Operational & Administrative Support:

  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and related vehicle inspection records.
  • Drive company vehicles as required to support FBO and airport operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules and completed work.
  • Participate in decision-making impacting operational credibility and service quality.
  • Perform Part 139 airfield inspections and escorts in the absence or in support of on-duty Airport Operations Officers.
  • Perform confidential tasks and other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to handle issues involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to successfully operate a PC to enter and access data.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledgeable in building operations, maintenance, and the procedures and safety measures in areas of specialty.
  • Proficient with work order and PM systems.
  • Ability to operate and effectively communicate with portable radio systems.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, and a commitment to maintaining a positive personal and professional image.

 Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in commercial, industrial, or aviation facility operations.
  • Experience with work order/PM systems required.
  • Project management experience is strongly preferred.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and craw.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception.
  • Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, ladders, and varying environmental conditions.

 Work Schedule:

  • Training: Monday – Friday | 07:00am - 03:30pm
  • Post-training:
    • Wednesday - Thursday | 08:00am - 06:00pm
    • Friday - Saturday | 06:00am - 04:00pm

This position supports a 24/7 FBO and airport operations. Overtime, irregular hours, and after-hours response may be required.
