Job description


Operate, maintain, repair and diagnose systems and portable equipment. Systems include air handling equipment, fire alarm systems, building automation systems, fluid pumping for cooling and heating, security card access, refrigeration, freezer alarm systems boilers and other building electronic systems. The Preventative Maintenance duties include belt replacement, lubrication, filter changing, and pressure washing inside of air handling equipment. Respond, investigate and solve all emergency and repair calls received. Communicate with all maintenance shops with work order systems and communication with on call maintenance staff as necessary. May be required to work with others in planning and scheduling for modifications and repairs to systems with minimal disruption to the mission of our organization while meeting fiscal constraints. Is alert to all aspects of equipment when responding to customer requests and communicates concern to appropriate personnel. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possesses excellent human relations skills to interact with staff, visitors, and patients.
Qualifications
Associate's degree or a two year degree from a technical college related to a Building Infrastructure System maintenance program or completion of a one-year trade-specific program. Four years of military experience in a related field will be considered in lieu of the educational and field service experience requirements. Experience working with Computers and various building control systems. Experience related to the skills associated with building infrastructure systems.Specific requirements based on campus location (review for each posting):
• Driver's License
• A Minnesota Special Engineer Boilers License is required or achievable within 6 months
