Job Description
  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Make sure engineers complete all guest-related service requests within 30 minutes and assist where needed.
  • Complete all non-guest-related work order requests as scheduled in a professional and timely manner, taking care to clean up completely after work is done and/or request housekeeping support.
  • Complete daily walks of the Mechanical, Electrical rooms, and the property.
  • To assist with all duties in the Engineering Department including all aspects of mechanical repairs, electrical work and painting.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager/Assistant Director of Engineering in day-to-day duties
  • Must be able to keep a detailed log.  
  • Ongoing dedication to exceptional guest service, both to internal and external guests
  • Making sure all work is carried out in a safe manner, following all guidelines as outlined in the Health & Safety Program
  • Deliver high quality of services according to Fairmont standards.
  • Daily supervision, coordination and support of all technicians on duty.
  • Responsible for reporting of engineering activities including incidents, safety issues and internal requests.
  • Maintain high staff morale and team spirit within the department 
  • Implement and train on all service standards.
  • Work together with other departments to maintain a high level of Guest Service.
  • Manage and Control inventory and spare parts.  
  • Ensure clean, safe and healthy work environment including but not limited to technical plants, engineering offices and workshops.
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Conduct pre-service briefing.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned by Engineering Manager/Assistant Director, Engineering.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Previous experience is an asset

  • Minimum 10 years' experience as a commercial building engineer or 5 years' experience in hotel engineering operations or building maintenance in a supervisor role preferred 
  • Multi skills technician with strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and low voltage.
  • Knowledge of how to respond to emergency situations, floods, fire, mechanical failures, etc.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm panels and systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities require.
  • Must be a highly organized person with strong planning skills.
  • Must be adaptable and handle last minute changes positively.

Physical Demands

This position requires:

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend and stoop
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pound
