You’ll play an important part in developing packaging solutions, creating prototypes, supporting production documentation, and helping move engineering changes forward. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, collaboration, and turning ideas into practical packaging solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal teams to design and develop packaging solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Create prototypes and CAD drawings for new package designs using SolidWorks and/or ArtiosCAD.
  • Develop prototype drawing specifications for customer approvals, external testing, and tooling needs.
  • Keep sample and production drawings accurate, organized, and up to date.
  • Prepare associated drawings and instructions and maintain bills of materials in Agile PLM.
  • Support manufacturing teams by answering assembly questions and helping resolve design or production issues.
  • Collaborate across departments to share customer needs, product ideas, and design updates.
  • Apply engineering principles and sound judgment to complete technical assignments and solve problems.
  • Use instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and other key information to prepare required documentation.
  • Prepare specifications and documents that meet requirements, including setting up clear formats and instructions.
  • Stay current on industry and trade trends that may influence packaging design and engineering practices.
  • Create production and engineering change request specifications.
  • Complete costing analysis for new and updated parts as part of the design process.
  • Support other related projects and duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a technical, business, or related field; equivalent experience; or 4 to 6 years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • You bring general packaging experience, or you’re excited to build deeper knowledge in packaging design.
  • You are proficient in SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD program.
  • You have familiarity with Agile PLM and MCAD, or are comfortable learning new technical systems.
  • You communicate clearly in writing, in conversation, and when presenting to others.
  • You are organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable solving problems.
  • You enjoy collaborating with a team while also being able to work independently.
  • You are comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • You can manage deadlines, balance multiple priorities, and stay focused on business needs.
  • You are able to research, coordinate, and resolve issues with a thoughtful and practical approach.
  • You bring confidence, professionalism, curiosity, and a positive attitude to your work.
  • You’re comfortable working with people across different teams, functions, and backgrounds.

What Will Help You Succeed

You’ll be most successful in this role if you’re comfortable sharing ideas and information in a variety of settings, from one-on-one conversations to group discussions with internal teams and external partners. You know how to focus on what matters most, prioritize critical tasks, remove roadblocks, and use your time effectively.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys learning technical concepts, building new skills, and finding creative, practical ways to bring ideas to life. Strong judgment, relationship-building skills, and the ability to work through challenging conversations with professionalism will also help you thrive in this role.
