Kiewit Industral and Water Engineering (KIWE) is expanding and adding Mid to Senior level Structural Designers to our team to support a variety of engineering/construction projects within our Industrial and Water markets.  We are looking for the ideal candidate to grow with our team, by helping establish, maintain and improve standards and tools while contributing to project success through structural design excellence.  In this role, you will work with a team of engineers to to develop REVIT models for foundations and steel structures. 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience (REVIT preferred), 2+ years in Navisworks and BIM 360/ACC and be proficient in Autodesk and Microsoft products.  You will need to have a strong understanding of modeling, design document creation and data exchange using BIM software.  More experienced desginers will be a learning resource fle less experienced deesigners and engineers and be comfortable working closely with Structural Design Engineers.  If you are looking for an opportunity to work on complex projects in diverse markets, a chance to grow your career in design, we would love to talk with you!   You ou will have the opportunity to work with subject matter experts, supporting the full spectrum of designs, from conceptual (pre-FEED), to FEED to detailed design for design/building and EPC projects for Industrial facilities across North America.

District Overview

Kiewit's Industrial and Water Engineering Group has the ability and the responsibility to greatly influence the successful outcome of our projects. Our team is multi-faceted, with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Water and Wastewater treatment, Data Centers, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy/Campus Energy and Utilities.

Location

This position can be located at our one our Kiewit offices in Lone Tree, Colorado, Lenexa Kansas, or Bloomington Minnesota.  For individuals interested outside those locations, we offer relocation assistance to Lenexa Kansas or our Lone Tree Colorado office only.    Opportunities for flexible work are available.  

Responsibilities
  • Performs 3D designs of concrete, structural steel, modular steel, and stick built, precast elements, rebarr, foundations, pipe racks, tanks, platforms, buildings, connections, stairs, and other structures for Industrial facilities, using REVIT, and Navisworks for clash detection.   Experience in design with construction in mind, and supports the design from a constructability standpoint.  
  • Coordinate with other design group members to review and exchange project information, necessary for design and development.  Leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) to create plans, sections, details and reports.  Gather required information and collaborate with engineers and other disciplines to develop Revit models for foundations and steel structures.  Experience converting sketches, markups and calcs into full detailed design drawings.  
  • Develops and manages project information while ensuring compliance with development information and information management standards and policies
  • Maintain project design documentation through all phases of design and construction
  • Ensures that project details and specifications are coordinated and communicated to the construction team through an integrated design process
  • Checks designs fro consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirement before submitting for checking. 
  • Works with project managers, engineers, and other designers to aid in project completion within schedule, budget and quality constraints
  • Mentor other team members in design and modeling techniques.  .
  • Assist in the devlopment of department standards and tools.  
Qualifications
  • Completion of a vacational training program in computer aided design and 5+ years of  structural design experience using REVIT (preferred) or similar tool. 
  • 2 + years professional experience in Navisworks and Autodesk documents with proficiency in Autodesk and MS products.   
  • Experience with designing foundations, platforms, pipe-racks, tanks and other related structures used in industrial, water or manufacturing facilities.  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex BIM/(ACC) projects.  Possess knowledge of spreadsheet, database and word processing programs. 
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.  
  • Able to communicate effectively and constructively with other team members and discplines both verbally and in written form.  
  • Ability to understand and implement detail project specifications and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Must be able to represent Kiewit in a professional manner to owners, contractors, vendors and any other contacts outside the Kiewit organization.  #LI-JB1

Base Compensation: $88,000/yr - $92,000/yr 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
