You thrive on building relationships with key decision-makers at both new and existing client organizations. Your deep industry connections and active involvement in associations, community organizations and boards set you apart.

You bring experience identifying and delivering services or projects as a technical consultant - or in close collaboration with one - and understand the full project lifecycle. As a recognized leader in sustainability and decarbonization, you've earned a reputation as a trusted advisor who solves complex client challenges by presenting NORESCO's end-to-end solutions to achieve their sustainability and decarbonization goals.

As an Account Executive for our Sustainability Services consulting team, you will:

  • Lead client engagement - maintaining strong relationships, ensuring satisfaction, and serving as a critical component of our long-term success.
  • Acquire new clients and grow existing accounts, leveraging NORESCO's technical expertise to identify, sell and promote sustainability and decarbonization solutions
  • Collaborate with internal experts to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions that solve complex client challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build deep client understanding - including organizational structure, processes, strategies, and decision-making dynamics - to strengthen relationships and uncover opportunities.
  • Create and execute winning strategies for proposals and solicitations, adjusting as needed to secure new business.
  • Apply sound business judgment to evaluate opportunities, balancing risk and reward when qualifying or disqualifying prospects.
  • Guide clients through the buying process, offering tailored solutions that help them meet energy and decarbonization policies, goals, and standards.
  • Collaborate with management and technical teams to pursue new projects, enhance existing relationships, and develop business development strategies for market expansion.
  • Engage with NORESCO leadership to shape pursuit strategies, client messaging, and relationship mapping.
  • Communicate opportunity status and next steps to the sales team, highlighting risks and ensuring alignment during regular meetings.
  • Increase market awareness among existing and prospective clients through proactive outreach and engagement.
  • Monitor industry trends and gather market intelligence on clients and competitors to inform strategy.
  • Leverage competitive insights to create compelling reasons for clients to choose NORESCO.
  • Maintain visibility in industry associations and community organizations, representing NORESCO as a thought leader.
  • Utilize NORESCO's CRM to track opportunities and manage client interactions effectively.
  • Provide executive-level briefings on strategic matters impacting sales opportunities.
  • Develop proactive account plans and opportunity strategies, including pricing discussions and decisions.
  • Build strong relationships with client and partner organization leaders, ensuring long-term collaboration.
  • Manage accounts post-sale, maintaining client satisfaction and driving additional business to meet evolving needs

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or consulting within a professional services or energy engineering firm; OR 5+ years of technical engineering experience within an energy engineering firm, with demonstrated ability to transition into a client-facing role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to engage with a wide range of senior-level stakeholders, both internally and within client organization.
  • Strong knowledge of market trends, state and local ordinances/laws (e.g. Energize Denver, Building Performance Colorado, etc.), and utility incentive programs.
  • Ability to analyze and provide strategic feedback on competitive intelligence, customer expectations and industry trends to inform sales decisions for sustainability services.
  • Collaborative approach to working with facility staff, executive leadership, sales and business development teams, and technical subject matter experts, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
  • Skilled in developing and delivering technical and non-technical presentations for public-facing events, including tradeshows and industry association meetings.
