QA/ QC Specialist, NJ

Maryland Energy Advisors (MDEA) is a rapidly growing energy management firm supporting many of the region’s largest businesses, including real estate owners, restaurants, manufacturers, and other commercial and institutional partners. We also provide consulting services to utilities nationwide. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly capable QA/QC Specialist to support the successful delivery of our energy efficiency and building decarbonization programs.

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting quality assurance, operational oversight, and customer satisfaction for residential weatherization programs. You will work closely with program managers, contractors, field teams, and utility partners to ensure projects meet program standards, regulatory requirements, and production goals while delivering high-quality customer experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform QA/QC-related tasks for Weatherization including customer complaint reviews, inspection tracking, and quality assurance monitoring.
  • Monitor customer feedback and complaint tracking systems, driving timely issue resolution while maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Track project progress, identify service interruptions, and ensure contractors respond and resolve issues within required timelines.
  • Collaborate with contractors, field staff, utility partners, and other stakeholders to promote program participation and awareness.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for contractors and field teams, resolving operational issues and facilitating effective communication across all stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver reports for internal and external stakeholders, including production tracking, QA/QC findings, operational trends, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in technical trainings and support continuous improvement efforts across program operations and quality assurance processes.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to enhance turnaround time, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support quality assurance protocols and ensure compliance with BPI standards and other applicable energy efficiency program requirements.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation, records, and tracking systems in compliance with utility, regulatory, and internal standards.
  • Support additional operational and programmatic responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFCATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, Construction Management, Communications, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Must be a New Jersey resident and reside within the state of New Jersey.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in energy efficiency programs, QA/QC operations, construction management, HVAC, building sciences, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting quality assurance, inspections, project tracking, or operational coordination within utility or energy efficiency programs.
  • Strong understanding of residential energy efficiency programs and building decarbonization initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working with contractors, customers, and cross-functional teams to resolve operational and quality-related issues.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% for inspections, meetings, training, and program events.

PREFERRED QUALIFCATIONS

  • BPI certification or other industry-recognized credentials.
  • Experience with utility-sponsored energy efficiency or building decarbonization programs.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC inspection processes and compliance standards.
  • Experience with customer service and complaint resolution processes.
  • Bilingual in English and another language.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, contractors, utility partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Bilingual in English and another language.
