Building Automation Graphics information

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in Building Automation Graphics, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Building Automation Graphics often encounter challenges such as balancing functional clarity with visual appeal, integrating graphics with diverse automation systems, and keeping up with evolving software platforms. To address these, it's important to maintain open communication with engineering teams to ensure that graphics accurately reflect system functionality, continually update skills with the latest visualization tools, and follow industry best practices for user interface design. Collaborating closely with end-users and facility managers also helps in creating intuitive, user-friendly graphics that enhance building operations.

What are Building Automation Graphics?

Building Automation Graphics are visual representations used in building automation systems (BAS) to display the status, control, and operation of various building systems, such as HVAC, lighting, and security. These graphics provide operators and facility managers with an intuitive, real-time interface to monitor and manage building performance. Well-designed graphics help users quickly identify issues, optimize energy efficiency, and ensure occupant comfort. The graphics often include floor plans, equipment schematics, and interactive controls accessible through computers or mobile devices.

Job description

Creative Director
Location: Las Vegas, NV strongly preferred. Remote considered for exceptional candidates willing to travel regularly for projects, team collaboration, and events.
Reports to: Director of Sales & Strategy and CEO
Compensation: $100K-$150K, depending on experience
About Neato
Neato is an ecommerce accelerator that partners with established CPG brands to own and operate their Amazon business. We purchase inventory, take full operational control, and deliver results where brands have historically faced chaos: reseller issues, margin erosion, fragmented partners, and Amazon complexity.
Our creative team is the engine behind how our brand partners show up-across Amazon listings, digital advertising, web, photography, and video. We produce elevated consumer brand creative at the pace and volume that ecommerce demands, without sacrificing quality.
The Role
We're looking for a Creative Director to lead our in-house creative team and shape the visual identity of the brands we partner with. This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit back and art direct from a distance. You'll be hands-on: building systems, running projects, presenting to clients, and pushing the team to produce work that's both beautiful and effective.
You'll lead a team of 6-8 across graphic design, digital design, web, photography, and video production. About 60% of your work will be brand partner creative; 40% will be Neato's own marketing. You'll need to move fluidly between strategic client conversations and operational execution-translating brand goals into creative direction, then making sure the work gets out the door on time and on point.
What you'll do:
  • Lead and develop a creative team of 6-8 across design, web, photo, and video
  • Own creative strategy and execution for brand partners-from concept through delivery
  • Present work to clients, translate feedback, and bridge the gap between brand strategy and creative specialists
  • Build and refine creative operations: workflows, project management, component libraries, and design systems in Figma
  • Run multiple projects simultaneously across different teams without losing quality or momentum
  • Push the team to adopt modern tools-AI-assisted design, agentic image generation, platforms like Weavy-to increase output without increasing headcount
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership on Neato's brand presence across web, campaigns, and events
  • Set and maintain creative standards that balance premium quality with ecommerce velocity

What success looks like:
  • Brand partners receive creative that elevates their presence and drives performance
  • The team operates efficiently with clear systems, not chaos
  • Creative output scales without proportional increases in time or resources
  • Neato's own marketing looks as good as the work we do for clients

Who You Are
Required:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Creative Director or equivalent leadership role
  • Background in design with agency experience-ideally at branding-focused or consumer-focused shops
  • Proven ability to lead teams across graphic design, digital design, web, photography, and commercial video production (not film-product and brand-focused content)
  • Strong client-facing skills: you can present work, take feedback, and translate between business objectives and creative execution
  • Deep Figma proficiency-not just design, but building component libraries, design systems, and leveraging Figma's newer features for scalable workflows
  • Experience running multiple concurrent projects across different teams
  • Strong creative strategy chops: you understand how brand positioning translates to visual identity and campaign execution

Preferred:
  • Experience with or genuine curiosity about AI tools for creative production-image generation, automation, workflow optimization
  • Familiarity with ecommerce or DTC brand creative and the pace it requires
  • Experience building creative operations infrastructure (not just inheriting it)
  • Comfort working in a growing company where you'll shape processes rather than follow them

You'll thrive here if:
  • You want to build, not maintain. We're scaling our creative capabilities and need someone excited to create the systems, not just run them.
  • You're equally comfortable in a client presentation and a project standup.
  • You believe great creative and operational efficiency aren't mutually exclusive.
  • You're energized by variety-different brands, different categories, different challenges.
  • You see AI and modern tooling as an opportunity, not a threat.

Why Neato
  • Real creative ownership: You're not executing someone else's vision. You'll shape how brands show up and build a team that delivers.
  • Variety: Work across multiple CPG brands in different categories-not the same product shots on repeat.
  • Growth trajectory: We're scaling aggressively and creative is central to how we win. This role will grow as we do.
  • Modern approach: We're investing in AI tools, creative ops, and systems that let a lean team punch above its weight.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Equity opportunity once you achieve the Director level
  • Hybrid work environment, flexible hours, and room to grow
  • Work with top consumer brands and see direct impact on their Amazon success
  • Unlimited PTO policy

Neato is an equal-opportunity employer. We hire based on talent, skill, and potential-period. If you're great at what you do and excited about this role, we want to hear from you.
