Job description

Join a dynamic team as a Machine Design Engineer responsible for designing and enhancing machinery using SolidWorks software. This role offers exciting projects, flexible hours, career advancement opportunities, comprehensive benefits, and more. This is a direct hire position for a reputable and growing machine builder in the Holland, MI area.   All levels of experience will be considered.  Also have similar openings in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. 
Responsibilities:
  • Create, design, and layout custom automation equipment based on engineering principles and expertise.
  • Conceptualize machine designs and select appropriate materials.
  • Develop detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks software.
  • Size mechanical components such as pumps, gears, pulleys, sheet metal, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and piping.
  • Provide support for machine assembly and troubleshooting.

Desired Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Previous experience as a Machine Designer, ideally in material handling, assembly, or automation sectors.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks; familiarity with Inventor, CREO, Pro-E, AutoCAD, or other 3D design software beneficial.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and servos advantageous.
  • Strong technical aptitude, team-oriented mindset, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Project Engineering or structural design experience a plus.
  • Must be a US citizen or possess a Green Card.
