Job Description

ProSidian Seeks a Business Systems Specialist  - Business Transformation (BT) Initiatives in CONUS - Silver Spring, MD (Plus Work Remotely) to support an engagement for an agency of the US Federal Govt. that regulates clinical investigations of products under its jurisdiction, such as drugs, biological products, and medical devices.

The ProSidian Engagement Team Members work to Business Transformation (BT) Support Services for initiatives aimed to align People, Process and Technology of the agency's financial community to be more closely linked with the strategy and vision for protecting the public health of the nation. Key objectives are to integrate and maintain financial management activities, busines processes, and customer service using project management, administration, and change management techniques.

Business Systems Specialist  - Business Transformation (BT) Initiatives Candidates shall work to support requirements for Program Support and Business Systems Specialist  Initiatives.  This position Experience working with the interface of information technology with functional groups within an organization. Experience in the complete SDLC from project inception through operational support.

Well-versed in meeting with users to gather requirements, documenting these requirements and serving as a liaison between the user and the IT community. Experience in leading teams in the development of requirements analysis and development of requirements documentation.

Assists with the review and analysis of customer requirements or problems and the development of business system tools specific to Information Management Systems (IMS) Projects.  May assist IMS Teams in developing detailed documentation and specifications to design and procure business tools for specific analytical needs.  Acts as a technology-related resource in direct support of a larger project by combining basic knowledge of the consulting project combined with technical expertise. 

This person has the ability to work with stakeholders, clients and other IMS employees at all levels to achieve results.  This person demonstrates high levels of enthusiasm, initiative and creative problem solving to meet the objectives of the project. The Business Systems Specialist is able to communicate effectively to all levels of staff both orally and in writing.  This person may also fulfill supervisory duties as necessary.

Key project workstreams align with BPA Statement Of Work Workstreams: 4.9 - Business Systems Specialist.  Analyze new and existing/future technologies and recommend changes in computer peripheral as per organization strategy.

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to derive functional and technical requirements based on standard procedures.
  • Coordinate with technical teams and business users to define business values and technical solutions that would improve the business.
  • Provide assistance in process improvement activities and in development of procedures and policies.
  • Manage to shift of project team and assist them in achieving project goals.
  • Assist in management in maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Lead projects and other initiatives to provide technical and business advice to business associates.
  • Plan, estimate, negotiate, and manage costs and risks.
  • Prepare project plans, identify and resolve issues and communicate project status.
  • Ensure timely delivery of services, adhere to quality, and meet high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide systems support for any changes made to the existing/future business environment.
  • Coordinate with partners to develop data models to generate regular and ad-hoc reports and analytical solutions.
  • Prepare testing, training, and security plans and provide training to customers and the IT staff.
  • Coordinate with the IT team to suggest proper back-up procedures and get the approval of management for the same.

Qualifications

The Business Systems Specialist  - Business Transformation (BT) Initiatives shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position. 

Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

The Business Systems Specialist  shall be classified under the Labor Categories and Experience of a Federal Business Systems Specialist  with professional qualifications that include At least 2 years of relevant experience or, if no experience, an undergraduate degree is required) and will provide a combination of the following:

  • Undertakes studies and analyses to identify areas for productivity improvements.
  • Assists with the review and analysis of customer requirements or problems and the development business system tools.
  • Analyzes and develops computer software.
  • Possesses a wide range of capabilities including numerous engineering, business and records management functions.
  • Strong Writing and Verbal Communications Skills.

This work will be performed primarily in CONUS - Silver Spring, MD (Plus Work Remotely)

TRAVEL:  Travel as coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations. 

LOCATION:  Work shall be conducted at the CONUS - Silver Spring, MD (Plus Work Remotely)

  • U.S.  Citizenship Required

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
  • All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a "Facility Access Authorization" (also referred to as an "Employment Authorization") by the USG's designated Security Office.
