Salary: Following the established BTEA Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Guide: $6,102 (26-27 School Year)

Description: Burlington Township School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic coach to lead and mentor student-athletes. The coach will plan and conduct practices, develop game strategies, and provide guidance to help athletes improve their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This role requires creating a positive, safe, and inclusive environment that promotes discipline, leadership, and personal growth both on and off the field. The ideal candidate is passionate about athletics, committed to student development, and able to inspire and motivate young athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work on planning, organizing, and executing all aspects of the program.
  • Work with individual players and position groups to develop fundamental skills, techniques, and game strategies.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to create practice plans, drills, and conditioning programs that enhance player performance and minimize injury risk.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development.
  • Attend all team practices, games, meetings, and events as required by the head coach and athletic department.
  • Assist in scouting opponents, analyzing game film, and preparing game plans to maximize team success.
  • Uphold and enforce all district and team policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Foster positive relationships with players, parents, school staff, and community members to promote a supportive and inclusive team culture.
  • Maintain accurate records of player attendance, performance evaluations, and other relevant data as requested by the head coach or athletic director
    Job Requirements:
  • Valid New Jersey certification Teacher Certification or Substitute Teacher
  • Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
  • In-depth knowledge of the sport, techniques, and training methods.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and guide student-athletes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with athletes, parents, and school staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
  • Availability to attend practices, meets, and team events during after-school hours and weekends.
  • Must meet New Jersey residency requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and motivated. Self-starter. Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Required criminal history background check, proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.
