Job description

QED Hospitality is a restaurant operations management group, focused on running Food & Beverage operations in boutique hotels and exclusive sites nationally.

We bring our operational acumen to the table, developing and managing restaurants tailored to the hotel, the region and the demands of the market. These are not cookie cutter concepts, but true restaurants born of the region and based on our history.

As a server, you are expected to treat each guest as if they are being welcomed into your own home. It is essential that you are able to adjust to the needs of each guest, and be flexible and willing to go the extra mile

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Deliver warm, polished, and attentive hospitality to every guest
  • Maintain comprehensive, current knowledge of all food menus, daily features, beverage offerings, and wine selections
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of common food allergens (shellfish, gluten, dairy, nuts, etc.) and cross-contamination awareness
  • Confidently communicate allergy accommodations and collaborate proactively with culinary leadership
  • Provide thoughtful menu guidance and curated recommendations
  • Maintain clear, real-time communication with the kitchen, bar, and management teams
  • Manage large-volume brunch service
  • Maintain positivity during high pace
  • Sell brunch cocktails and specials
  • Execute precise order entry using POS systems with high accuracy
  • Handle payments and cash procedures responsibly and accurately
  • Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready tables and service stations at all times
  • Step in wherever needed — no task is beneath us — supporting teammates to ensure seamless service
  • Manage timing, pacing, and table flow with ownership and accountability
  • Operate your section like you own it — driving sales while protecting the guest experience
  • Assist with opening and closing side work duties
  • Safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed (trays, glass racks, bus tubs, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 1+ years upscale or high-volume dining experience preferred
  • Strong food knowledge — especially seafood and Southern cuisine
  • Allergy awareness and comfort discussing dietary restrictions required
  • Wine/ Cocktail knowledge (or eagerness to develop it)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Experience using POS systems and handling cash accurately
  • Ability to multitask calmly and professionally under pressure
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Team-first mindset with pride in precision
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have (or be in the process of obtaining) a valid alcohol serving permit (specific permit will vary by state) 

Preferred : High school graduate or GED. Previous serving experience a plus.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the restaurant. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have a manual dexterity and coordination to operate restaurant and office equipment and machines. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
