Job description

Part-Time School 1:1 LPN 

Modality: LPN โ€“ 1:1 School Assignment
Openings: 1
Location: Brookline, MA (serving students with cognitive impairments)

Schedule
  • Days: Weekdays (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
  • Hours: 
  • Monday; 9:15a - 1:15p
  • Wednesday: 9:15a - 3:15p
  • Friday: 9:15a - 3:15p
  • Contract Length: 26/27 school year
Assignment Overview

A school in Brookline is a specialized school serving approximately 35 students with cognitive impairments. The school is well staffed and supportive, with 10 dedicated 1:1 nurses and 3 general school nurses on site. This role offers a collaborative environment and strong clinical support.

The LPN will provide 1:1 nursing care for a 15-year-old male student who:

  • Uses a wheelchair
  • Has a G-tube
  • Requires oxygen
  • Has a seizure disorder (seizure response plan in place)

Parents will come to the school to provide training specific to the studentโ€™s care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct 1:1 nursing support throughout the school day
  • Safely transport the student from home in South Brookline to BC Campus, and back home at the end of the day
    • AM bus run time is built into the shift
    • PM run includes an additional 30 minutes to allow for transport home
  • Monitor and manage medical needs including G-tube care, oxygen support, and seizure response
  • Collaborate with school nurses and staff to ensure continuity of care
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active LPN license
  • Pediatric nursing experience required
