What does a brokerage intern do?

A Brokerage Intern supports brokerage firms by assisting with research, client communications, and administrative tasks. They help brokers prepare presentations, analyze market trends, and manage client portfolios under supervision. This role provides hands-on experience in the finance and real estate industries, helping interns learn about investment strategies and the day-to-day operations of brokerage firms. It's a valuable opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career as a broker or financial advisor.

What types of tasks and projects can a brokerage intern expect to handle, and how do these contribute to learning the business?

As a Brokerage Intern, you can expect to assist with a range of tasks such as researching market trends, preparing presentations and marketing materials, supporting transaction processes, and analyzing property data. You'll often shadow brokers during client meetings and property tours, gaining hands-on experience with client interactions and deal negotiations. These responsibilities provide valuable exposure to the full brokerage cycle and help interns build essential skills in communication, analysis, and teamwork, all of which are crucial for a successful career in real estate brokerage.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a brokerage intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Brokerage Intern, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a foundational understanding of finance or business, typically gained through relevant coursework or internships. • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn the brokerage business
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable interacting professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Independent worker with a collaborative spirit
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work in-person at one of our Vestian offices
  • Willingness to pursue a Real Estate License (not required for internship, but beneficial for future career)
What We Offer
  • Hands-on experience in global corporate real estate brokerage
  • Mentorship from experienced brokers and industry experts
  • Market analysis and research techniques
  • Negotiation strategies and deal structuring
  • Intensive call and sales outreach training program
    • Learn effective cold calling techniques
    • Master the art of email outreach and follow-up
    • Develop skills in qualifying leads and building client relationships
    • Practice pitching Vestian's services confidently and persuasively
  • Opportunities to participate in client meetings and property tours
  • A collaborative, innovative work environment that fosters growth
  • Access to cutting-edge CRE technology and analytics tools
  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Flexible Monday to Friday schedule to accommodate academic commitments

Note: We do not offer relocation assistance or housing for our internship program.
