The Surgical Center at Brixton Health Partners is an onsite facility designed for clinical efficiency and patient comfort. In this collaborative setting, you will interact regularly with attending physicians, nurses, surgeons, and other medical professionals, working on a variety of surgical cases. • Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments, including thorough patient histories and physical exams, to evaluate surgical candidacy.
• Assist in the development of individualized patient care plans, utilizing evidence-based practices to optimize surgical outcomes.
• Order and interpret necessary diagnostic tests such as imaging and laboratory procedures to guide clinical decision-making.
• Participate actively in surgical procedures, taking on roles both as an assisting provider and as a primary provider, depending on your training and competencies.
• Prescribe medications and formulate perioperative care plans within the established protocols.
• Engage in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide patient education on treatment options, postoperative recovery, and long-term care strategies tailored to individual needs.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of all patient interactions and clinical findings through our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
• Involve yourself in performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and quality of care.

Our Surgical Center serves a diverse patient population in Surprise and its surrounding communities, ranging from elective surgical candidates to those requiring urgent interventions. This role requires sensitivity to the varied needs of patients, including those from different cultural backgrounds, ensuring that all interactions are respectful and responsive.

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Active licensure as a Physician Assistant in Arizona and NCCPA certification (PA-C).
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a PA, preferably in a surgical or acute care setting.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS/ATLS preferred for surgical protocols.
• Strong analytical, communication, and critical thinking skills necessary for effective patient care.
• Proficiency in utilizing EHR systems, with familiarity in Epic preferred.

• Experience in surgical procedures, such as assisting in orthopedic or general surgery, is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and continuous learning through professional development initiatives.
