About This Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Lead Teacher to establish a secure, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for our young students. The ideal candidate will design and implement engaging lesson plans, prioritize daily safety and supervision, and adhere to all DECAL and CACFP regulations. As a Lead Teacher, you will oversee assistant teachers, interact positively with families via Brightwheel, and maintain a spotless and organized classroom. We are looking for a leader who embodies professionalism, creativity, and a genuine passion for early childhood education.


What You'll Do

Establish and maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment for young learners.

Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that foster social, emotional, and academic growth.

Ensure the physical and emotional safety of children at all times, adhering to DECAL and CACFP guidelines.

Accurately document daily events, attendance, and meal counts, and maintain open communication with families through Brightwheel.

Model professional behavior, leadership, and effective communication for assistant teachers and colleagues.

Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant classroom using daily checklists and procedures.

Engage in intentional interactions with children to support their social, emotional, and academic development.

Collaborate with administration and participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and policy adherence.

Fully commit to our center’s policies, safety protocols, and licensing regulations.


Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and actively engage with children throughout the day
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and meet all DECAL requirements
  • Ability to maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled hours consistently
  • Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
  • Ability to complete daily documentation, attendance, and Brightwheel communication

Nice To Haves
  • A CDA, TCC, or higher early childhood credential is highly desirable
  • A minimum of one year of experience working in a licensed childcare center is preferred
