Job description

Our Little Luke's Early Learning Center is currently hiring for Full-Time Infant/Toddler/Preschool Teachers. These teachers are responsible for creating an environment with a teaching team that promotes each child's development and supports children and their family's diverse needs and interests.

Work Location: 316 W. Washington Street, Boise, ID

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA's Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school.

Schedule:

All openings are full-time position at 40 hours weekly and with benefits! Schedule requirements are Monday through Friday, with availability between 6:00am and 6:00pm. Schedules vary with all shifts being 8 hours. Pay is $17.05-$21.31/hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Create an environment that fosters safety though active supervision and by role modeling safe behavior.
  • Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to building relationships, achievement, and belonging.
  • Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily communication with participants and parents.
  • Implement the established curriculum.
  • Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support children's appropriate development and behavior.
  • Monitor and ensure the health and safety of participants, families, staff, and volunteers by following and implementing Child Development Branch approved Leading Practices.
  • Use Y Core Values, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective teaching strategies to support each child's unique background, needs and different learning styles.
  • Maintain an indoor and outdoor environment that is well equipped, organized, safe, clean, and welcoming. The environment is created based on the belief that all children learn best through play, positive adult interaction, and hands on open-ended experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • One or more years of experience working with children preferred.
  • Apprentice/CDA Candidates or Enrollees preferred.
  • Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
  • Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.

REQUIRED LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Boise City and/or Idaho State Child Care License - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
  • Pediatric CPR/AED - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
  • First Aid - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
