IBM Maximo Techno-Functional Architect

Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IBM Maximo Techno-Functional Architect to join our growing team at Agelix Consulting. In this fully remote role, you will serve as the subject matter expert and technical/functional lead for enterprise asset management (EAM) solutions built on IBM Maximo. You will collaborate with clients across industries to design, implement, and optimize Maximo environments that align with their operational and business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end IBM Maximo implementations including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating functional requirements into scalable Maximo architecture solutions.
  • Design and architect Maximo application framework (MEA), integration frameworks, workflow, escalations, and automation scripts.
  • Lead technical design sessions including data modeling, object structures, application designer customizations, and security configurations.
  • Develop and review technical specifications, solution architecture documents, and functional design documents.
  • Provide technical leadership in Maximo upgrades, migrations (including Maximo Application Suite / MAS), and cloud deployments.
  • Configure and customize Work Management, Asset Management, Inventory, Procurement, and Contract modules.
  • Collaborate with integration teams on Maximo integration with ERP (SAP, Oracle), GIS, IoT, and third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Mentor junior consultants and provide guidance on Maximo best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of complex Maximo issues.
  • Participate in pre-sales activities including solution scoping, effort estimation, and proposal development.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of hands-on IBM Maximo experience in a techno-functional capacity.
  • Strong expertise in Maximo 7.6.x and/or Maximo Application Suite (MAS 8.x/9.x).
  • Proficiency in Maximo Application Framework: Application Designer, Database Configuration, Automation Scripts (Jython/JavaScript), Workflow Designer.
  • Deep functional knowledge of at least 3 Maximo modules: Work Management, Asset, Inventory, Procurement, or Contracts.
  • Hands-on experience with Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), Object Structures, Enterprise Services, and Publish Channels.
  • Experience with Maximo database tables, MAXOBJECT, MAXATTRIBUTE, and cross-domain queries.
  • Proficiency in SQL, XML, and scripting languages used in Maximo environments.
  • Experience with Maximo cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of leading multiple full-cycle Maximo implementations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • IBM Certified Deployment Professional Maximo Asset Management certification.
  • Experience with Maximo Spatial, Linear, or Industry Solutions (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Transportation, Utilities).
  • Familiarity with BIRT reporting, Cognos, or other Maximo-integrated reporting tools.
  • Experience with Maximo Mobile (Anywhere, Inspection) and/or Maximo Visual Inspection.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, APM (Asset Performance Management), or RCM frameworks.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum project delivery methodologies.
