Job description

Position: Restaurant Manager (Full Time)
Location: Bricktown Brewery - Joplin, MO.
Salary: $55,000 - $60,000, dependent on experience

Summary:
Provide exceptional guest experiences every visit through direction and leadership of the Front of House. Partner with the management team to ensure high standards of guest service and profitability while strictly adhering to Bricktown Brewery policies and procedures.

Reports To: General Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Execute daily restaurant operations, including supervision of hourly team members.
  • Assist the General Manager with executing sales initiatives and achieving business goals.
  • Support all FOH operations, including systems adherence, health inspections, order guides, quality control of beer, and food safety and sanitation.
  • Oversee food presentation to ensure all items are prepared and presented according to Bricktown Brewery specifications.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations related to food preparation and service.
  • Maintain the building, equipment, and supply levels by coordinating with appropriate vendors and contractors for repairs and performing basic maintenance as needed.
  • Promptly and professionally resolve guest complaints and comments to ensure timely guest recovery.
  • Ensure a safe environment for guests and team members by minimizing risks, completing accident reports, and following company procedures when injuries occur.
  • Communicate team member issues or concerns to the management team through manager meetings and/or the digital manager log.
  • Sign off on FOH and BOH team members at the end of their shifts.
  • Follow and understand all company procedures, including crisis situations such as Workers' Compensation and General Liability claims.
  • Complete ongoing Manager-in-Training projects as assigned.
  • Assist the General Manager in ensuring the success of all company programs and systems, including the MIT program, hourly training, and Certified Trainer program.
  • Assist the management team in preparing hourly team member schedules based on budgeted labor.
  • Support the General Manager in ensuring all financial, HR, and payroll administrative duties are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policies.
  • Strictly follow company cash handling procedures and ensure proper security procedures are maintained.
  • Partner with the General Manager to monitor weekly expenditures, invoice entry and coding, sales projections, and food, labor, and supply costs while meeting or exceeding budget expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager, General Manager, or Operations Leadership.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of guest service principles and processes, including active listening, guest needs assessment, service standards, and guest satisfaction.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to drive sales through cultivation of new guests and retention of existing guests.
  • Knowledge of menu items and food and beverage preparation.
  • Strong coaching and performance management skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and direct team members.
  • Ability to analyze information and manage financial performance through budgeting, P&L comprehension, math skills, and reading comprehension.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of restaurant equipment and local and national health codes.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage personal time and the time of others.
  • Proficiency with Ctuit, Aloha POS, Excel, Word, Ops Analytica, and Outlook.

Education & Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of restaurant experience required.
  • Restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in Hospitality or a related field preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Performance Standards:
  • Meets or exceeds budgeted financial performance.
  • Maintains an upbeat and professional attitude with guests and team members.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, including appearance standards outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance.

Working Conditions:
  • Stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours.
  • Maintain constant communication with guests and team members.
  • Operate a cash register, Point of Sale (POS) system, and handle cash accurately.
  • Reach, bend, stoop, wipe, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work 50+ hours per week, with two scheduled days off that are rarely consecutive.
  • Weekend availability is required.

Training Requirements:
  • Successfully complete required alcohol and food safety certifications (ServSafe and/or other state-required certifications) within 60 days of employment.
  • Successfully complete the Bricktown Brewery Manager-in-Training program at the assigned restaurant or a nearby location.
