Quality Assurance/Quality Control Professional

Location: Panhandle, TX

Position Overview

Quanta Government Services is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Professional to support construction projects within highly regulated environments. This position is responsible for ensuring construction products, services, testing, and inspections meet established quality standards, specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements.

The QA/QC Professional will serve as a primary quality point of contact for assigned work, provide independent field oversight, maintain accurate quality records, and work closely with project supervision to identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are properly addressed. This role requires someone who can operate independently in the field while collaborating effectively with project leadership, inspectors, testing agencies, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Provide quality oversight for assigned construction activities and serve as a point of contact for quality related matters

• Implement project quality assurance plans, procedures, specifications, and applicable requirements

• Develop, review, maintain, and control inspection reports, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), test procedures, quality checklists, certifications, material records, and other quality documentation

• Perform independent quality surveillances, inspections, and field observations to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, codes, and standards

• Verify required testing and inspection activities are properly completed and documented

• Confirm inspection and testing personnel are qualified and required hold points, witness points, and acceptance criteria are satisfied

• Coordinate and execute testing and inspection activities and review results for errors, defects, deviations, or other quality concerns

• Identify, document, track, and support resolution of deficiencies and nonconforming conditions

• Verify measuring and test equipment is appropriate for its intended use, properly identified, calibrated, and supported by required records

• Participate in project kickoff meetings, job walkdowns, pre installation meetings, progress meetings, safety meetings, and other project coordination activities

• Work closely with field supervision and project teams to ensure work complies with project requirements before work proceeds or is concealed

• Coordinate quality activities with Safety, Engineering, Procurement, Document Control, subcontractors, testing agencies, and project stakeholders

• Support audits, surveillances, turnover documentation, quality performance trending, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of 5 years of construction experience involving quality assurance, quality control, testing, inspections, or comparable technical oversight

• Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, Inspection and Test Plans, acceptance criteria, quality records, and applicable codes and standards

• Ability to independently observe construction activities and identify deficiencies or nonconforming conditions

• Ability to clearly document quality concerns and communicate required corrective actions to field and project leadership

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational and computer skills with the ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate, traceable quality records

• Valid U.S. driver's license

• Ability to obtain and maintain required project site access, badging, background checks, training, and personnel security requirements

• Ability to travel as required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Post secondary certificate or associate degree in Quality Control, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related technical field; a bachelor's degree in a related field is also desirable

• Experience supporting federal, DOE, DoD, nuclear, industrial, or other highly regulated construction projects

• Experience with nonconformance reporting, corrective action tracking, audits, surveillances, document control, inspection and test planning, and measuring and test equipment calibration controls

• American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)

• ISO 9001 internal auditor or lead auditor training

• Applicable trade or inspection credentials such as ICC, AWS, ACI, NICET, NACE/AMPP, or equivalent certifications

• Current DOE security clearance when required by the assigned project
