Job description

General Summary The Stablehand works in and around the horse stables, activity center building, and grounds, feeding and caring for horses, and cleaning and maintaining the facility. Requirements and Job Specifications Education Required: No formal education required; Must be able to read and write to receive work instructions Other Job Specifications: Ability to maintain cleanliness. Experience with animals.

Attention to detail regarding animal care. Functions and Duties Feeds and waters horses, turns-out and cleans stalls, and other duties related to animal care Loads, unloads, and pushes wheel barrow with manure and solid bedding from stall areas to stockpile Assists with rounding up horses from pasture for lessons Assists with clean up of all areas of the facility Loads, unloads and carries bags of feed, bales of hay and bags of shaving Assists with preparation of stall/pens/arenas and portable structures used for functions Supplemental Information Generally 8 hours a day, 5 days per week. Evening and weekend work may be required.
