Linemen Job Summary A lineman in the oil and gas industry plays a crucial role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical power transmission and distribution systems. The job involves working with high-voltage power lines and equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient flow of electricity to various oil and gas facilities. Linemen Job Responsibilities Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power lines and associated equipment.

This includes towers, poles, conductors, transformers, insulators, switches, and other components necessary for power distribution. Participate in the construction of new power lines or expansion of existing ones. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues or equipment failures.

Must adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines to ensure personal safety and prevent accidents. They use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures while working on energized power lines. They also inspect and maintain safety equipment, such as harnesses, gloves, and tools, to ensure they are in proper working condition.
