Job Summary
The Breakfast Server is responsible for delivering warm, efficient, and brand-hearted service to hotel guests during breakfast hours, in alignment with IHG service culture and standards. This role creates meaningful guest experiences by anticipating needs, demonstrating genuine care, and consistently delivering high-quality food and beverage service that reflects True Hospitality for Good.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
  • Deliver a warm, welcoming greeting that reflects IHG's commitment to genuine hospitality
    Create positive first impressions by engaging guests with a friendly, professional demeanor
    Escort guests to tables when appropriate and present menus promptly
    Demonstrate strong menu knowledge, including ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens
    Anticipate guest needs and personalize service whenever possible
    Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally, escalating to leadership as needed
    Thank guests sincerely and invite them to return, reinforcing guest loyalty
Food & Beverage Service
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system efficiently
    Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring accuracy, presentation, and temperature standards
    Prepare and serve coffee, tea, juice, and other breakfast beverages according to standards
    Communicate clearly with kitchen and service team members to ensure smooth operations
    Accommodate special requests and dietary needs with care and attention to detail

Brand Standards & Compliance

Cleaning & Side Work

    Complete assigned opening and closing duties
    Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, equipment, and workstations
Cash Handling & Administrative Duties
  • Process guest checks accurately, including room charges, credit cards, and cash
    Follow hotel cash-handling and reconciliation procedures
    Complete required shift reports and tip documentation
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous hotel or restaurant service experience preferred
    Strong guest service mindset with a passion for hospitality
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, early-morning environment
    Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
    Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
    Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Education & Certifications
