Job description

Brayman Construction Corporation is seeking a full-time CCO Certified Crane Operator at the Meldahl Lock and Dam. A background in heavy civil construction. The Crane Operator role is a full-time position earning a competitive wage.
CRANE OPERATOR SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the operation of cranes used in a heavy civil construction environment.
  • Will assist team leaders and signal persons with pre-pick planning and coordination.
  • Responsible for assuring that all lifting gear has been inspected before the start of any lifting operations. These inspections include, but are not limited to slings, cables, straps, and the crane.
  • Will be responsible for rigger's compliance within company policy, safety guidelines and procedures that pertain to that crane operator's job.
  • Assure that all lifts are within load limits of equipment and correctly rigged.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CRANE OPERATOR
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be CCO/NCCCO certified.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to safely and accurately operate a crane.
  • Experience operating cranes in a heavy construction environment a plus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records.

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
