Additional Job Description:

West Virginia University Health System (SMG)seeks a Hospitalist Medical Director. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Gassaway, WV.

Duties: The Medical Director will oversee the Hospitalist program at Braxton County Memorial Hospital. The Medical Director will ensure that patients receive the highest quality treatment and will have oversight relating to activities associated with the delivery of clinical care and will make recommendations for staffing related to the appropriate delivery of such care.

The Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring efficient consultation service for Braxton patients, streamlined clinical processes, appropriate clinical treatment protocols, and maintenance of high levels of patient satisfaction and patient safety. The Medical Director will oversee quality metrics as established by WVUHS to ensure appropriate outcome measures. The Medical Director will work closely with the physicians, administration, nursing, and technical staff to maintain an excellent level of general clinical care/operations and will organize the development of new clinical programs and innovations to continue to provide the latest clinical technologies and service.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a West Virginia medical license. Successful candidate must have completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
