Job description

Come join our Lawrence, MA retail team!Β  The Sales & Service Representative (SSR) assists in the daily operation of the branch including keyholder responsibilities to open/close the branch. Β The SSR serves as a financial consultant to new and existing Members by providing information about Metro’s products and services, assists and advises Members in determining which products and services best meet their needs, opens Member accounts and provides problem resolution. SSRs participate in sales and service programs and contribute to branch sales goals, providing referrals to retail partners as appropriate. Β As a representative of the Metro brand, you’ll adhere to Metro’s policies, procedures and regulations in providing excellent, quality service to members, co-workers, and management. Β Β Β 

All branch employees are scheduled weekly to ensure full coverage of business hours, including rotating Saturday shifts.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Process a variety of transactions including check cashing, deposits/withdrawals, loan payments and payoffs, official checks and money orders, cash advances, etc.
  • Balance work on a daily basis and stay within defined balancing guidelines.
  • Provide information relative to Metro Credit Union policies and procedures to new and existing members. Β 
  • Perform needs assessment to determine the best financial solution or product for members.
  • Verify all account opening requirements have been met, including obtaining all applicable security clearances, required signatures, and paperwork.
  • Conduct consumer loan interviews; aid members in completion of loan applications including verifying identification, obtaining required signatures, and ensuring approval conditions are met. Communicate status of loan applications to members. Β 
  • Contribute to sales and referral programs including branch sales goals. Cross sell products by answering inquiries and informing members of new services and product promotions. Make effective referrals to retail partners.
  • Resolve service problems and complaints by determining root cause, selecting, and explaining the best solution, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
  • Maintain member confidence and protect bank operations by keeping member information confidential.
  • Train on additional secondary skills such as outbound collection calls, processing loans, answering calls from the call center, and assist other departments as required by the Universal Service program. Participate in and strive to achieve assigned program goals.Β Β 

Requirements:

Education and ExperienceΒ Β 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of banking experience preferred

Skills and Traits

  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to focus on the customer
  • Ability to perform work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Previous financial services and sales skills preferred
  • General knowledge of computer software, data input, and Windows-based applications

Compensation Disclosure:
