Job description

The Personal Banker/Branch Service Representative will assume, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:
  • Responds to members' requests for information on various products and services, answers questions, conducts basic research on members' accounts and/or refers members to appropriate individual for solution.
  • Receives members at assigned teller station, determines nature of member's business, and processes accurate transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, payments and transfers, in person, by mail, or telephone.
  • Processes Visa cash advances and loan payments, and updates member address information.
  • Opens various credit union accounts, including IRAs, trusts, term certificates, shares and share draft accounts.
  • Interviews loan applicants, counsel's members regarding consumer loan options, prepares documents and loan records, and makes sound recommendations to Loan Officers.
  • Discloses and funds approved loans. In the event a loan is denied, explains reason for loan decision.
  • Determines members' financial needs and provides products and service information to them that meets those needs.

The successful candidate will possess the following education, knowledge and skillsets:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Two years of financial institution experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service and sales skills
  • Personal computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
