Job description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Branch Manager facilitates and drives the branch operations and sales, to include managing the financial business plan; overseeing all talent development, training, presentation and facility maintenance; ensuring all Briggs Industrial Solutions standards are adhered to and executed consistently with company direction.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Maintains daily involvement within the branch departments to facilitate their collaboration: sales, service, parts, and rental
  2. Achieves financial objectives by driving the performance of financial operational plans and budgets.
  3. Continuously assesses talent at all levels within the branch and provides specific ongoing coaching, training and feedback to develop the best talent in the industry
  4. Recruits, interviews and takes ownership of all hiring decisions to ensure only top diversified talent is on-boarded into the Company
  5. Promotes positive employee relations including fostering high team morale, upholding operational standards, and execution of the performance management process
  6. Leads and facilitates weekly team meetings to ensure effective communication and motivation at all levels of the organization
  7. Builds and strengthens relationships with customers to ensure the Company is promoting the best value and quality from that relationship
  8. Approves weekly schedules to ensure location is on target with business plan
  9. Partners with General Manager, Shared Services and subject matter experts to develop and execute a sound and obtainable business plan
  10. Manages and coordinates all requests and communication received from branches or Corporate
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned

minimum qualifications

Basic Knowledge & Competencies:

  • Excellent customer service, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Outstanding leadership and people development skills
  • Strong financial acumen, including cognitive skills, problem analysis, decision-making and quantitative analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to assess customer patterns and adjust labor and branch focus accordingly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Working knowledge of transportation equipment industry, current market trends, and regulations.

 

Previous Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years' experience in roles with increasing responsibility
  • 2+ years’ experience in leading others
  • Experience in revenue generation to include the ability to analyze income statements and take appropriate action
  • Experience in transportation and mobility equipment sector preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Standing, walking, lifting, twisting and bending on a frequent basis
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
