Job Overview:
Select Event Group is a highly respected event rental company. Partnering with the regions and nations most successful event professionals, Select is dedicated to building long term relationships based on operational excellence and a commitment to our Clients success. Select provides the widest and deepest array of event rental products and services available to event professionals. The Tent Foreman is responsible for the timely, safe, and efficient installation of tents and related equipment for our Tents, Structure and Flooring Division. The foreman must be able to communicate, teach and guide a team of installers while on the jobsite. As well as providing great customer service and a great experience for our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Following the best practices for safety on and off the road
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Must have a positive attitude
  • Delivery, install, and removal of equipment; tents, stages, floors, lighting, etc.
  • Offer excellent customer service through friendly and professional service
  • Directing and monitoring the work of others.
  • Ensure appropriate safety measures are followed; including wearing and use of safety equipment
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively
  • Read maps, drawings, CAD layouts, & follow written instructions
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends
  • Be aware of weather conditions at job site and plan install accordingly
  • Inspecting all tent components prior to assembly
  • The ability to adapt to and work well with changing priorities and situations
  • The ability to define and prioritize problems and resolve them quickly
  • Ensures cargo is loaded and secured against movement and damage
  • Comply with all D.O.T. regulations.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Effectively plans trip using maps, GPS, written or verbal information
  • Properly and safely operate a box truck.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations

Qualifications Include:
  • Must have working knowledge of installation/strike procedures for frame tents, pole tents, structures, and other related equipment
  • Must have jobsite leadership experience
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must pass DOT physical and drug screening (background check)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety regulations/DOT guidelines
  • Be familiar with basic hand tools, drill, saw, hammer, etc.
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Should have knowledge of the Maryland, DC and Virginia area
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lb.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Minimum of three 3 years of verifiable driving experience
  • Safe driving and accident history
