The Rental Manager position is a leadership role responsible for developing operational excellence within an Equipment Lease and Rental operation(s) by managing Lease and Rental operations for class 3-8 equipment. The role includes functional responsibility for approximately 90% operations and 10% sales. Lead and maintain a profitable Lease and Rental operation following company policies and procedures in support of Allegiance Idealease objectives. Possess the ability to direct personnel in achieving objectives and profit goals. Provide vision and leadership to establish and maintain operations that are competitive and profitable through effective employee and customer relations.
HLAs - HIGH LEVERAGE ACTIVITIES (focus actions that will return the highest impact):
  • Profit and Loss accountability for the branch(s); meet company financial objectives.
  • Retain current customer base while increasing rental revenue and margins through process improvements and implementing best practices in the rental and administrative departments.
  • Responsible for the operational and administrative task and duties for the branch(s).
  • Direct responsibility for branch operations and administrative functions by conveying Company Vison.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
  • Responsible for asset management of the rental and lease fleet for all administrative and operational functions.
  • Operational responsibility for the rental fleet, billing and customer development and retention.
  • Work with the branch sales and service departments to develop strong relationships with current customers.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and strong customer retention of current customer base through internal sales and best practices.
  • Assist in growing the Lease & Rental department consistent with annual financial plan.
  • Develop and create a team environment within the Lease & Rental Department and Allegiance Trucks organization.
  • Implement policies, standards, goals, and best practice.
  • Operational responsibility for local billing, rental processes, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Participate in business and community activities and assign department managers to do the same.
  • Adhere to company safety procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • A high school diploma and/or GED is required. Combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • College degree preferred
  • A minimum of three to five years' experience in heavy duty truck leasing and rental or similar environment
  • Proven management and leadership skills
  • Sales management and business development experience
  • Ability to listen to and communicate with customers and employees
  • Knowledge of accounting, financing and insurance
  • Ability to analyze results and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to read and understand legal information, state and federal regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication required

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The position is located in the office and shop environment, as well as duties performed outside. Mobility of walking, standing and bending is frequent. Dexterity, hearing, and talking requirements are constant. Visual ability to detect situations of concern is constant. The employee will occasionally lift up to and over 50 pounds. Must be able to meet the public and make decisions. Exposure to heat, cold, dust and dirt. Travel required.
