Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead capital and operational projects in highly regulated industrial environments. This role requires a seasoned professional who can independently manage projects end‑to‑end and has a strong command of the decision gate process —from initial scoping and budgeting through execution, closeout, and handover, within an integrated team. 

The ideal candidate is a self‑directed leader with strong financial acumen, deep experience in regulated industries, and the ability to communicate fluently with other project management professionals using standard PM methodologies and terminology.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Project Delivery
    • Plan, execute, and close projects across engineering, construction, or energy transition portfolios
    • Ensure delivery within scope, schedule, and cost targets
  • Planning & Scheduling
    • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, an d schedules
    • Track progress and adjust plans to meet changing project needs
  • Budget & Cost Control
    • Manage CAPEX budgets and forecasts
    • Monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with financial targets
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Interface with internal teams (engineering, procurement, construction) and external stakeholders
    • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, regulators, and partners
  • Risk Management
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
  • Implement contingency plans to maintain delivery objectives
  • HSSE Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to bp’s health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards
    • Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities
  • Reporting & Governance
    • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project performance
    • Maintain project documentation and governance controls 
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • 5–10+ years of project management experience (energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale capital projects
  • Strong knowledge of project controls (cost, schedule, risk)
  • Experience with tools such as ECOSYS, Primavera P6, SAP, or similar systems 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, APM, or similar certification
  • Experience in low-carbon projects
  • Familiarity with contracting strategies and supply chain management
