Steinhafels is currently recruiting for an associate to work in our furniture warehouse and retail store backroom.  This position holds the overall responsibility for efficiently moving furniture to the showroom floor, as well as unboxing, assembling, and re-boxing a wide variety of furniture. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong focus on customer service.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Furniture Assembly & Construction: Accurately and properly assembling furniture according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring all pieces are constructed safely and meet quality standards.
  • Furniture Movement: Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of furniture, ensuring items are safely transported to designated areas on the showroom floor.
  • Customer Assistance: Assisting customers with merchandise pick-up, ensuring a smooth and efficient process, and offering excellent customer service throughout.
  • Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper tracking of products, and reporting any discrepancies or damaged items promptly.
  • Unboxing & Re-boxing: Unpacking new furniture and preparing it for display, as well as re-boxing items as necessary for storage or shipping.
  • Showroom Maintenance: Assisting with the organization and display of furniture in the showroom to ensure a visually appealing and safe environment.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols while handling furniture, using the proper lifting techniques and tools to prevent injury and ensure the safety of all employees and customers.

  • Self-Motivated: Must be proactive, able to work independently, and demonstrate initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Power Tool Proficiency: Must have the ability to safely and effectively use various power tools for furniture assembly.
  • Reliability: Strong attendance and punctuality are essential to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a 75lb physical lift test prior to employment, demonstrating the ability to lift and handle heavy furniture items.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
