What You’ll Do as an Assistant Pet Care Manager

As the Assistant Pet Care Manager, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Pet Care Manager and General Manager in overseeing daily operations and leading our pet care team. Your responsibilities will include:

Team Leadership
  • Supervising and coaching Pet Care Associates to foster a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Assisting with onboarding and training new team members.
  • Providing daily direction and support to ensure adherence to company policies and safety protocols.
Pet Care Operations
  • Ensuring exceptional care for all boarding, daycare, grooming, and enrichment guests.
  • Monitoring pet health, behavior, and overall well-being.
  • Administering feeding, medication, and individualized care plans with precision.
  • Managing safe group play by recognizing and responding to canine body language and behavior.
Enrichment Center Support
  • Implementing individualized enrichment activities that promote physical exercise, mental stimulation, and confidence.
  • Ensuring enrichment services are delivered consistently and safely.
Facility Standards
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the facility.
  • Conducting regular inspections to ensure all areas remain presentable and secure.
  • Assisting with inventory management and supply ordering.
Client Experience
  • Collaborating with the Client Experience team to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Addressing client questions and concerns professionally and proactively.
  • Creating an environment where clients feel confident leaving their pets in our care.
Administrative Support
  • Assisting with scheduling, staffing, and daily labor management.
  • Completing daily operational checklists and documentation.
  • Supporting operational initiatives and special projects.
What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you’ll need: - At least 1 year of experience in pet care, animal handling, veterinary medicine, grooming, daycare, or boarding. - Leadership or supervisory experience (strongly preferred). - A solid understanding of canine body language and safe group play management. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. - The ability to remain calm and decisive in fast-paced situations. - Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an active environment.
