Job description

Job Title: Packer
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Location: Batavia, IL (on-site)
Shift/Hours: 3rd Shift/Monday-Friday, 11 pm - 7 am. Overtime is required as needed and consists of 12-hour shifts. Employees must be flexible and available to work either 11:00 PM-11:00 AM or 7:00 PM-7:00 AM overtime schedules based on business needs.
About the Role: This is an entry level position in a manufacturing facility. Ability to work on a repetitive assembly line for 8-12 hours per shift.
Essential Duties:
Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Removes foreign debris sorts and counts products.
  • Places containers, lids, and other product in plastic bags.
  • Counts parts and or weights parts to adjust quantity.
  • Identifies parts prior to placing in plastic bags.
  • Places plastic bags containing identified plastic parts in proper shipping container or carton.
  • Packs special arrangements or selections of products.
  • Inspects materials, products and containers at each step of packaging process.
  • Stamps boxes with date and code.
  • Packers must have dexterity to pick and sort small parts and will stand and bend constantly while working on the line.
  • Place full boxes of product on the box sealer.
  • Comply with all GMP requirements.
  • Must maintain reliable attendance and flexibility to work scheduled shifts, mandatory overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed based on business demands.
  • Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
  • Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and Supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
  • Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and Human Resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as to the best of own ability.
Education/Experience:
  • 6 months of related work experience helpful, but not required
