Job description

Position: Material Packer

Location: Aurora, IL

The material packer inspects for quality, keeps accurate counts and paperwork, and stacks the product into boxes on the skid. Performs assigned essential tasks to assist line operator in maintaining accurate counts, and to maintain a clean & safe work environment.   Basic operations of the converting line are learned in this position.

Material Packer Essential Functions and Responsibilities

 

  • Must be able to read and understand Job description and work instructions.
  • Must complete and comprehend EverTec Material Packing Quality Assurance training program.
  • Effectively performs visual quality inspections as required by EverTec Quality Assurance program.
  • Understands and can implement Quality Assurance program required escalation process when non-conforming product has been identified.
  • Make certain product is being packaged according to customer requirements. Including correct boxes being used, correct amount in box, all information on labels is correct.
  • Must know procedures to assure accuracy of good product counts and waste counts, maintain accurate and complete records as required.
  • Ensure efficient packing process as identified by supervision and management is adhered to as a Standard Operating Procedure.
  • Must be able to work all four stations of the Packer role as well as conducting rework and non-standard work assignments, to include, but not limited to: 
    • Pallet Stacker Station: Assembling cardboard lids, conducting quality checks, removing full boxes of mailers off the skate table, and stacking them on a finished good pallet.
    • Box Making Station: Constructing cardboard boxes and general housekeeping.
    • Mailer Packer Station: Packing the mailers into the constructed box on the conveyor belt and conducting active quality checks.
    • Utility Packer Station :Assisting other roles in their duties and any additional requirements per the scheduled job, conducting quality checks, assisting in quality containment activities, monitoring finished good time stamp, and housekeeping.
    • Rework and nonstandard work assignments: General Housekeeping, reworking material that is out of customer specification, and other non-standard work after being properly trained.
  • Assist line operators in wash ups, makereadies and startups as required.
  • General cleaning of area workspaces and floors ensuring area is always clean.
  • Follows all required safety procedures. Performing job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
  • Learns and adheres to safety rules and procedures.
  • Must maintain attendance levels as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Must comply with all policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Must be able to read job instructions and follow all verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Other responsibilities as directed or required.
