The Box Erector Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of automated box erecting equipment used in the production and packaging process. This position ensures equipment is properly set up, operated, maintained, cleaned, and inspected to meet production, quality, and safety standards. The operator performs routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoots minor mechanical issues, and supports overall manufacturing operations as needed. He or she is required to work in climate controlled as well as non-climate controlled areas. He or she maintains the safety/sanitation/security of the logistics environment and appropriately handles all materials following company policies and procedures.

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Five years machine operation experience preferred
  • High school or vocational school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Conveyor experience preferred
  • Experience in operating a forklift preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate box erector machines and related packaging equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety standards
  • Set up, adjust, and monitor machine settings to ensure proper box formation and production efficiency
  • Load corrugated materials and supplies into the machine
  • Place insert inside boxes and apply shipping label
  • Prep box safety stock and complete supply inventory
  • Complete production, maintenance, and inspection records accurately and timely
  • Maintain production rates while ensuring product quality standards are met
  • Monitor machine performance and identify operational issues or abnormalities
  • Clear minor jams and perform adjustments to minimize downtime
  • Verify proper box dimensions, assembly, and overall quality throughout production runs. Communicate with facilities management about any work that requires outside expert assistance
  • Implement preventative maintenance measures and programs
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment on a daily basis
  • Work with tools and supplies necessary to complete projects
  • Maintain corporate safety procedures at all times and comply with access control regulations
  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
  • Perform basic maintenance and part replacement on equipment
  • Clean machines, work areas, and surrounding equipment according to sanitation and housekeeping standards
