Job description

Job Title: Floor Host

Reports to: Manager on Duty

Classification: Hourly

General Job Description:

The Floor Host works closely with the manager on duty as a “second in charge” when the manager on duty has temporarily stepped away. The floor host is aware of all activity in the front and back of house including arriving and departing guests, guests needing service, and over all smooth club operations. The floor host communicates with all front of house staff and the manager on duty and is capable of assisting the manager on duty with opening and closing activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain required dress code, appearance, and hygiene.
  • Communicate with all front and back of house staff to ensure smooth club operations.
  • Maintain awareness of all guests, entertainers, and vendors entering and leaving club.
  • Monitor the number of guests entering and leaving the club to ensure safe occupancy limits are maintained.
  • Assist bouncers and other security staff with guest control when needed.
  • Develop an efficient work pace that keeps the guests at the bar and in the club satisfied at all times.
  • Collaborate with other club staff and bar staff.
  • Assist service staff by providing additional guest services and maintaining a clean, healthy, safe environment.
  • Promote guest loyalty.
  • Reviews all guests’ identification prior to entry and denies access to underage, intoxicated, and obnoxious guests.
  • Partner with club and bar staff to identify and remove intoxicated guests.
  • Identify and report to management any and all illegal activities occurring in the club or on club property including parking lot, access areas, and alleyways.
  • Identify and report all environment safety or security problems to club staff and management.
  • Able to assist manager on duty with opening and closing activities.
  • Comply with all regulations and training.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and guests.
  • Act only to promote the success of the club, its employees, and its guests.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Capable standing for an 8-hour shift.
  • Flexible, autonomous, and well-organized.
  • Strong guest service and interpersonal communication skills required.
