Description

The University of Rochester Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Urogynecology & Minimally Invasive Gynecology is seeking a full-time fellowship-trained Urogynecologist to join a busy academic clinical practice. The Urogynecology practice offers a full range of services for evaluation & management of pelvic floor disorders within a catchment area encompassing Western New York down to Albany and into northern Pennsylvania. Our blended division allows our Urogynecology faculty to focus on the evaluation & management of pelvic floor disorders and supports collaboration with MIGS faculty for patients with co-existing pelvic pain disorders. Our division works very closely with Colorectal Surgery with a high volume of collaborative surgical cases, as well as with Urology and Plastic Surgery for complex pelvic reconstructions. As faculty, you will receive career mentoring and opportunities to develop an academic career focused on your interests and strengths.

Faculty are based at Strong Memorial Hospital with an additional ambulatory surgical center and the clinic site both within a 10 minute drive. Urogyn faculty may expect 2-3 clinic days and 1-3 surgery days per week adjusted for scheduling needs; 1 day of administrative time per week is assigned and adjusted as needed based on administrative roles over time. Strong Memorial Hospital provides a dedicated GYN OR & team for vaginal & laparoscopic cases as well as multiple robotic suites with DaVinci 5 systems. All clinical sites use a common medical record (Epic). Faculty cover after-hours call for the Urogynecology practice and at Strong Memorial Hospital, typically as back-up call for fellows taking first call (gynecology call is covered by the Gynecology & MIGS Divisions). In the clinic, faculty are supported by 2.5 Urogynecology trained APPs, nursing staff who manage clinical triage and acute visits, and office staff. The clinic includes office procedure suites for urodynamics, cystoscopy, intravesical Botox, PNE, & transurethral bulking.

The responsibilities of this position will include:

· clinical care of patients with complex pelvic floor disorders including surgical and non-surgical management. Proficiency in vaginal & laparoscopic/robotic approaches to pelvic reconstruction is essential.

· teaching Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery Fellows in clinic and the OR, including supervision of after-hours call as scheduled

· teaching of other learners including medical students, OB-GYN and Urology Residents in clinic & the OR, as well as Family Medicine & Internal Medicine residents attending clinic for brief clinical exposure experiences

· participation in division & department activities including quality improvement, systems improvement, and research activities

Qualifications

- M.D./ D.O. Degree or equivalent

- Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery

- Eligible for a New York State Medical License

- Currently board-certified or eligible for board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology and in Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery

- Must meet all credentialing requirements

- Post offer Drug Screen and Health Assessment required

- Compliance with University and New York State health requirements

Individual salaries will be determined within the job's salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries.
