Job description

Robert Half is partnering with a manufacturing company in West Haven, CT, to identify a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a contract assignment. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing day-to-day accounting transactions, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare and issue invoices and monitor customer payments.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial statements.
  • Record daily financial transactions and ensure accuracy of accounting records.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for management.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting activities.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with management and external auditors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.


Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
