Job description

Financial Operations โ€“ Associate/Sr. Associate

We Are a Mission-Driven Company

Sunlight Financial is a contractor-focused point of sale lender with a relentless focus on providing amazing service and delivering a best-in-classย experience to our entire ecosystem. Weโ€™re rapidly growing in every home service vertical โ€“ Windows, Remodel, HVAC, Roofing, Fencing, and more โ€“ and need exceptional talent to help us reach our goals.

Since inception, Sunlight has funded over $12 billionย in loans with thousands of high-quality contractors nationwideโ€”and weโ€™re just getting started. Weโ€™re looking for passionate, driven teammates to help scale our growing home improvement business.

At Sunlight, we empower our teammates to make a meaningful impact. Weโ€™re looking for A players who thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. We're a fast-growing company which means initiatives and strategy can evolve quickly as the business scales. We need teammates who move with that agility instead of resisting it: people who live and breathe andย an ownership mentality and don't wait to be asked, who take initiative and execute, and who step in on what needs doing even when it's not strictly "theirs."

Our salaries are competitive, our benefits are generous, and our culture is collaborative, connected, and fun.

If this sounds like you and youโ€™d like to come build with us, weโ€™d love to talk to you.

More senior candidates may take on additional ownership of operational initiatives, partner programs, and cross-functional leadership.

What you will be doing:

  • Own the day-to-day execution of transactional workflows tied to loan funding, including disbursements, payments, and funding requests across various lenders
  • Compile and administer loan pools for sale to direct and indirect loan purchasers
  • Coordinate seamlessly across teams โ€” accounting, business development, capital markets, commercial risk, credit, legal and compliance โ€” to keep operations running smoothly
  • Plan, implement and administer various company initiatives including strategic partner platforms, rebate and referral programs and more.
  • Partner with sales, relationship managers, and channel partners to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues
  • Drive automation and process efficiency
  • Contribute to cross-functional groups on various initiatives, reporting and ad hoc matters

  • BA/BS degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, mathematics or similar
  • Extremely detail oriented and comfortable multi-tasking within a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of fundamental finance and accounting concepts
  • 2-4 years of experience for Associate; 4-7 years for Sr. Associate, in banking, corporate treasury, accounting, or financial operations
  • Exceptional financial data analysis with strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrable problem-solving and analytical skills, impeccable integrity and judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior management team
