Job description

About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial operations. You'll be the backbone of our finance function — keeping the books accurate, the reports timely, and the business decisions well-informed. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys ownership, doesn't need heavy oversight, and takes pride in clean, accurate numbers.

What You'll Do

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and vendor payments
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate coding of transactions
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with tax withholding requirements
  • Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning
  • Prepare documentation and support for tax filings, working with our external CPA/tax preparer
  • Track fixed assets, depreciation, and prepaid expenses
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls
  • Support audits and respond to auditor requests as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (in-house or with a firm)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and general bookkeeping principles
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
  • Clear communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally with non-finance staff

Nice to Have

  • Experience in hospitality or logistics
  • CPA, CB, or bookkeeping certification
  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Gusto, ADP, Paychex)
